It had been a week since Loki had brought in more people to the fortress. The pair of intergalactic bounty hunters were quite secretive and kept to their rooms, but they were ruthless when given the right pay and had a score to settle against Asgard. Grudges against Thor put people high on Loki's list to recruit.

Still, the atmosphere was different then when it had just been him and the Soldier. And even then, it had been different since that afternoon when the Soldier had overheated. Things had been more formal, more cold. Loki knew he should prefer things this way...but a part of him missed the comfortable air that had started to grow when it just been the two of them.

The sun was out but it wasn't too hot so Loki was out reading in a small secluded garden. It was hidden between the wall and the tower where his library was, plus the door was cloaked in magic. He'd filled it with plants and flowers that resembled a garden his mother kept, not that he would admit it to anyone. There was a bench in the shade of an exotic looking tree and that was where he was reading.
